CHAMP

The third and last year of the CHAMP project is soon turning to its end. CHAMP activities are currently being finalized in all partner countries - Finland, Germany, Hungary and Italy. The objective of CHAMP has been to train and support local and subregional authorities in implementing an integrated management system for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and to promote the model European-wide.

Within the project, national training hubs were established to conduct the Integrated Management System (IMS) trainings for local authorities in each partner country. The piloting local authorities have now gone through the series of IMS trainings and you can find more information on the national trainings from the national training hubs’ pages below.

The main output of the project is the Capacity Development Package supporting local authorities in implementing the IMS for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The draft Capacity Development Package has now been published and still during the project, it will be translated to German, Hungarian, Italian, Finnish and Swedish.

To promote the IMS model European-wide, a European Partnership for Integrated Sustainability Management was launched in summer 2011. We are constantly looking for new partners to join our growing network of organizations interested in offering IMS trainings to local authorities.
