Union of the Baltic Cities Commission on Enviroment (UBC EnvCom) is one of the 13 commissions of the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC). UBC is a voluntary, proactive network of cities mobilizing the shared potential of over 100 member cities for democratic, economic, social, cultural and environmentally sustainable development of the Baltic Sea Region. UBC consists of member cities from the 10 Baltic Sea Region countries (Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland).

The Italian Local Agenda 21 Association was set up in 1999 to spread Local Agenda 21 and promote sustainable development models whose members are those Municipalities, Provinces, Regions and other Local Authorities and all the protected areas management authorities that have promoted, adopted or intending to adopt a Local Agenda 21 Action Plan in the short term. The Coordinamento Agende 21 Locali Italiane is a very consolidated network that counts 510 members (municipalities: 369, Provinces: 45, Regions: 11, local authorities consortium, mountain communities and Natural areas: 27, supporters: 58).

Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities
On the initiative of the Municipality of Ancona and the Italian National Association of the Municipalities and with the approval of the Charter of Ancona, the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities was established in Ancona in 1999. This association brings together the coastal cities of the 7 countries of the Adriatic-Ionian Basin: Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania and Greece. The Forum aims to build and develop the economic, social, environmental and cultural heritage of the Adriatic and Ionian coastal cities and to collaborate on European integration and enlargement. It pursues this goal by promoting innovative forms of decentralized cooperation and partnerships between local authorities of the member countries.

Lake Constance Foundation (LCF) is a charitable environmental organisation created by six NGOs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Main objective of LCF is to protect the environment – especially water ecosystems – and to support sustainable development of lake regions. LCF coordinates model projects on sustainability in the Lake Constance Region and is also involved in European wide initiatives.

ICLEI is an international association of local governments as well as national and regional local government organizations who have made a commitment to sustainable development. Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency
Lake Balaton Development Coordination Agency (LBDCA) is a Hungarian public non profit company established in 2000 to promote the development of the Lake Balaton Resort Area. Lake Balaton is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and one of the most significant natural treasures of Hungary. However, the lake is very vulnerable due to its very shallow profile and heavy reliance on tourism. LBDCA is working with domestic and international partner organisations to launch forward looking initiatives focused on sustainability issues. The aim of LBDCA is to provide effective assistance so that the Lake Balaton and its vicinity should become one of the most attractive regions in Hungary and Europe.

The Observatory on Sustainability in Spain
The Observatory on Sustainability in Spain (OSE) is an independent organization that was set up in 2005 as the result of a collaboration agreement between the Spanish Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, the Biodiversity Foundation (Fundación Biodiversidad) and the Alcalá University’s General Foundation. The OSE’s mission is to stimulate social change towards sustainability by providing the best available information for decision-making and public participation. OSE rigorously collects, processes and assesses basic information on sustainability in Spain (current situation, trends and future scenarios), always taking into account the environmental, social and economical dimensions of sustainable development.

Foundation of Professional Training in Public Administration in Sibiu, Romania
Professional Training Foundation in Public Administration from Romania, Sibiu, was founded in 2000 with the main idea of development for continuing training in the field of public administration in Romania. Foundation works in cooperation with several state organizations and other NGOs. To achieve the overall goal, FPA with all partners, promote research for science, in the field of development, research and innovation,to create some form of training designed to improve staff training in administration, but also for the benefit of citizens using the services of training. From theoretical form, last year they started to accessing European projects, designed to align the professional training in Europe.
